November 6 – Puerto Madryn
After breakfast is provided, The 6th will consist of a full day tour of Peninsula Caleta & Piramides in addition to Whale watching navigation in a semi-submersible

Exploring the wildlife of the Peninsula will aim to seek out guanacos, lesser rheas, Patagonian foxes, Hairy Armadillos and some of the most important rookeries of protected South American Sea Lion and Elephant Seal colonies. Also common in this region are Magellanic Penguins and a variety of seabirds. Every year between July and December the Eubalaena australis, or Southern Right Whale, grace the calm waters of the Golfo Nuevo with their presence. Typically, this is the time of year in which the whales give birth to their calves. Pregnant females will arrive towards the end of the winter, with nursing calves then remaining close to their mothers for another ten months. This tour is a lovely way to experience the majesty of these ocean giants during an intimate time in their lives. After our time on the boat,we visit colonies of sea lions and finally Elephant Seals before returning to Hotel Del Nomade.

November 7 – Puerto Madryn – Estancia San Lorenzo

FD Peninsula Punta Norte & Pinguinera: This morning after breakfast is provided, we will drive north along the coast to Estancia San Lorenzo. Situated on the North-eastern corner of the Peninsula, on the shores of the San Matias Gulf, this estancia is dedicated to sheep breeding and maintaining the most important Magellanic Penguin Colony on the Peninsula (roughly 200,000 penguins). Estancia San Lorenzo’s circular trails allow for plenty of opportunities to observe the wildlife here, from the elaborate dances, discussions, disputes and nesting rituals of the Penguins, to the daily grind of Guanacos, Maras (Patagonia hares) and Elephant Seals. Orcas are usually observed offshore, feeding on sea lions. At the end of the day, we will stop at Hotel Tolosa for the night.
