A Journey Through Inca History and Majestic Landscapes

Your Andean Exploration Highlights

This guided tour takes you through the awe-inspiring landscapes and cultural landmarks of the Andes, allowing you to walk in the footsteps of the Incas. From the historic city of Cusco, with its blend of Spanish colonial architecture and Inca walls, to the breathtaking Sacred Valley and beyond, the trip offers rich insights into the ancient civilization. Explore iconic archeological sites like Sacsayhuaman, Pisac, and the world-renowned Machu Picchu, while interacting with local communities and experiencing Andean life. The adventure includes scenic hikes, vibrant markets, and a glimpse into centuries-old artisan traditions. Whether ascending Rainbow Mountain on the optional extension or visiting the terraced salt pans of Maras, this trip promises to leave you with lasting memories and a deep connection to the Andean culture and landscape.

    Itinerary Overview

    Day 1 - Arrival in Cusco, Peru

    Arrive to Cusco, transfer to hotel. City tour of Cusco in the evening. Walk the ancient streets lined with Inca walls, visit the Catherdal, Qoricancha, and the Cusco San Pedro produce market.

    Day 2 - Sacred Valley of the Incas – Sacsayhuaman & Pisac

    Morning visit to the Sacsayhuaman Archeological Park. Visit the temple of Qenqo, the fortress of Pucara, and the water shrine of Tambomachay. Continue the journey in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and explore the artisan center of Awanacancha, the picturesque town of Pisac, and the Pisac Archaeological site.

    Day 3 - Sacred Valley of the Incas – Chinchero, Moray & Maras, Ollantaytambo

    Drive to Chinchero (1 hr.) visit the village and the archaeological site. Drive to Moray (1 hr.) visit the site, and then continue on to Maras. Lunch in a family restaurant with local food options. Transfer to the salt mines of Maras and tour the site. Drive to Ollantaytambo (1 hr.) visit of the Inca village of Ollantaytambo.

    Day 4 - Machu Picchu (Day 1)

    Discover one of the world’s most iconic and breathtaking destinations: Machu Picchu. This visit will surely be one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life. Take your time to explore these awe-inspiring ruins. Night in Aguas Calientes.

    Day 5 - Machu Picchu (Day 2)

    Return back to Machu Picchu for a hike to the summit of Machu Picchu Mountain. From this vantage point, visitors can admire the majesty of the archaeological complex in its entirety, framed by the imposing mountains and lush natural surroundings.

    Day 6 - Cusco to Lima (or continue on to optional Rainbow Mountain extension)

    Transfer to Cusco airport in time for your departing flight or continue on to Rainbow Mountain extension.

    Day 6 Extension – Rainbow Mountain (Palccoyo) – Inca Temple of Wiracocha Raqchi

    Trip to Palccoyo the rainbow-colored mountain peak – short walk to Bosque de Piedras. After lunch, we drive to the historic Inca Temple of Wiracocha: Raqchi, the creator god of Inca mythology. Short trip to Checacupe where we will spend the night.

    Day 7 - Cusco to Lima

    Transfer to Cusco Airport in time for your departing flight.
