Your African Adventure Highlights
We choose mid to late March as the best time of year to see the great migration. This is when the migratory herd enters the southern-most part of the Serengeti, which has the flattest terrain. It is only here where you can see the vast herd spreading toward to horizon.
Other highlights include:
- A safari into the center of the Ngorongoro Crater
- A visit to the Museum of Man in the Olduvai Gorge
- A safari in Manyara National Park to see the tree climbing lions, great flocks of flamingoes and more

some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s

offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, elephant, and giraffe,
and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle. Golden-maned lion
prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera
River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains.
There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. There are over 500 species of birds, and your guide will
also introduce you to the small five’. In addition to a wide variety of mammals, over 300 species of birdlife
have been recorded in this park.
